Tautologies | Solo Exhibition by Eirini Roumpi at Fool's
(Athens / Greece)
Jan 2023 - Feb 2023

Τautologies. The repetition of the same meaning using different words.
Something that includes and describes itself. The different layers of the same thing, the same thing seen from various perspectives.

Artworks that validate themselves or simply cancel each other out? Artworks that try to
define themselves through repetition [as if we don't do the same]

Is tautology a non-important repetition? By repeating something again and again we increasingly distance ourselves from the original object, creating new objects. It loses itself as it transforms, but it finds another self.

A multimedia exhibition that includes photographs, photograms, installations that again use
photography as a starting point, as well as stop-motion videos. Everything is tied together
and tailored to the actual space of the exhibition, in a unified site-specific installation.

A series of theoretical discussions, methodological fermentations and experiential exercises, under the guidance of Stathis Mitsios and selected guests, lead the members of the laboratory group to the creation of their works within a symbiotic and inter-artistic framework of action.
